British Television in Spain

British Television in Spain?
I'm going to stay in Spain for one month and have requested english television and internet access...i have been informed that the apartment has sky box but i need to take my own sky card - i don't have sky here so can't do this. Anyone got any suggestions of ways can I get english television channels over there? I will have internet and laptop if that can help? thanks :)

You could buy a free to air card and see all the channels (but with a normal sky box you should be able to see BBC, ITV, just not not channel 4 or 5). A sky free to air card will cost you about 50 Euros. Try britsat, easisat, eurosat, and a few others in search engines (they are all based in and around barcelona and the costa brava - if that's nowhere near where you're going just type "UK SKY Madrid, or wherever you'll be), and you should find out pretty quickly. You may also be able to sell on the card to the owner of the place you're renting. If you want subscrition channels, then you'll pay exactly the same as you'd pay in UK (i.e. sky movies, sky sports, etc) and again, can arrange this with a credit card, or a uk bank account. More details on those webs too. good luck!

You could do what I do and watch TV on my laptop with Slingbox, it's brilliant. http://uk.slingmedia.com/

In addition to what wet26 just said (to get more free TV channels on your computer), I suggest to try Zattoo. It's free, it's fast, you'll like it!

Be like me, I live in Spain and don't watch television, certainly not UK TV. There is so much to do here rather than watch TV. Your only here for a month, go out and enjoy this beautiful country
