What type of files can I download to watch on PC from 'thepiratebay' - i cannot burn dvd's?
I cannot burn dvds on my laptop, i live in spain and the tv is rubbish! I want to download to my laptop to watch on my laptop in bed. I am sure i can watch avi files, but the files on 'thepiratebay' have so many different ending and I don't want to waste time downloading stuff I can't watch. Can anybody help me pleassssse?

The Private Bay is the biggest torrent trackers site. U need to have bitcomet or utorrent and etc client program in order to download the files. U need to check also what kind of file format it is. Some is Rar files that need to extract, some are avi format. Well, u just need to install K-Lite Mega Codecs, then u should be no problem playing major video file formats on your laptop. http://blog.diyersitzone.net

I can watch pretty much any file format on your pc. You just need to get the proper codec so they will play... Some files are in ISO and RAR format which you will need to extract the files before they will play

LizzyA, you can download any video and with the proper method or player you can watch them all, check what to do according to the the termination of the file (type or extension actually): 1. .avi: you just said you can watch those in your computer, usually 700 MB for a whole movie. One language and maybe one sub. 2. .rar: your movie is compressed in a bunch of small parts and you need an extracting tool like 7-zip or winrar ( http://www.7-zip.org/download.html or http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm ). After the decompression your movie could be an .avi file or a VIDEO_TS folder containing about 10 files named .BUP, .IFO and :VOB). our movie could be of any size. 3. VIDEO_TS: This is the real DVD movie meaning clear and with menus and maybe more than one language and subs. This can be played with almost any DVD player program that came your laptop or you can download VLC player from http://www.videolan.org/vlc/ and it will play it for you. Your movie would be about 4GB in size. 4. .iso: It is an image of the movie meaning is the real deal like VIDEOP_TS but you need to mount it in a virtual drive or burn it to watch it. A free virtual drive is Daemon Tools from http://www.daemon-tools.cc/downloads These are the most common movie files you are going to find. If you are not going to burn those files and you only want english language without subs you should stick to .avi files. Best Regard
