Does using my laptop in a different country for so long ruin the battery life?
I have been living in Spain for 6 months but bought my laptop in England and I think the battery is running out faster than normal. Is that what happens because of the difference in voltage?

There is NO difference in voltage, you obviously did not check this before plugging in, did you? Dangerous mistake, if there was a big difference you could have blown up the laptop! In any case the voltage range on most laptops is 110 - 240 v, unless you deliberately look for a european 3 -phase supply it is safe round the world.

What brand of laptop are you using? I would check the power supply adaptor that's powering your laptop. Most laptops and camcorders have a wide input range of 100V-240V, so if that is the case, then it should be okay to use worldwide without a voltage converter (though it's always safer to use one anyhow). Laptop batteries tend to lose capacity very quickly, especially if you keep your computer plugged in and never "deep discharge" the battery
